Non-EU International students can work for a total of 964 hours in a year. They can also work at the University where the contract lasts for 12 months (1st Sept. to 31st August). Here, the students are not allowed to work for more than 670 hours in a year.

Every student, working for a part-time job is guaranteed a minimum wage that is changed every year. As of 2017, the minimum wage is (gross) 9.76 Euros per hour.

Once a student finds a job, with a salary of at least 1.5 times the minimum wage can then change their status to a full time employee.

Whereas, students who have completed their Bachelor’s from France can get an extension of 1 year by applying for a non-renewable temporary residence permit.

Once the student has found a job related to the course, can then apply for a work permit. This work permit allows them to qualify for a residence permit.

 

To be able to apply for Permanent Residence in France, the applicant must have resided in the country for at least 5 years continuously.

This permit allows the holder to live in France for up to 10 years (it can be renewed).
