Pearson Test of English (PTE) is one of the three parts of Pearson Language Test. Pearson Language Test is a unit of Pearson PLC Group which is dedicated to assessing and validating the use of English Language amongst non-native English Speakers. The Pearson Language Test has three different tests all validating English at various levels. Which are: PTE Academic, PTE General and PTE Young Learners. These tests are accredited by the QCA (Qualification and Curriculum Development Agency) and administered in association with Edexcel. In fact, PTE Academic is endorsed by Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC), the organisation responsible for the GMAT exam. The test scores are designed to match the defined levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEF of CEFR). PTE Academic is delivered through the same centres that are responsible for the GMAT exam; the Pearson VUE centres. Pearson formed PTE Academic to meet the demands from institutions, government and other organisations for an accurate method of testing non-native English language users who enter the English academic scenario. It is accepted by institutions such as Yale University, Stanford Graduate School of Business and Harvard Business School in US and London Business School in UK. It is also accepted by INSEAD and HEC Paris in France, IE Business School and ESADE in Spain and SDA Bocconi in Italy. PTE General is an International exam for speakers of English as a foreign language. It is a theme based exam designed to tell how well a learner can communicate in authentic and realistic situations. While PTE Young Learners is an International exam for young children aged from 7 to 12 who are learning English as a foreign language. The test scores arrive online within 5 days of the exam given. They do not have a limitation of how many times one can appear for the exam. When the PTE exam where released, it was recognised by almost 6,000 organisations worldwide. This test is also approved by Australia Border Agency and the Australian Department of Immigration and Citizenship for Visa applications.
