Is it possible to earn while Learning ?

Students going to Italy for long term (6 months or more) courses get a restriction stamp on their passport. It means that they can work up to 20 hours a week and full time during scheduled holidays.

You cannot be self-employed, run a business or be a representative of the country in any professional sport.

While students applying for courses less than 6 months, get a prohibition stamp on their passport. It means that they cannot work in Italy. Violation of these rules can result in a fine up to 1,000 Euros.

A student must apply for this permit 8 days of their arrival. This document legalises your stay in Italy. This permit is valid up to 5 years and may be extended later.

Once a student has secured a job, they must apply for a Work Permit with the help of their employer.

EU students do not require any other permit except for a residence permit.

After living in Italy for 5 years or more, you are entitled to apply for the EC residence permit. The applicant must also pass the Italian language test in order to apply for the Permanent Residency Permit.
