Is it possible to earn while Learning ?

International students often look for ways to earn a few Euros while studying in Ireland. This can happen without the need of a work permit. A student can work up to 20 hours in a week during the term of the course and 40 hours per week during scheduled holidays. One will be allowed to work only if they do not compromise on their studies at all.

Jobs offering annual salaries of 30,000 Euros or more (Professions listed under Highly Skilled Occupation)

Or jobs offering annual salaries of 60,000 Euros or more (all professions)

General Employment Permit: The employee or the employer can apply for this permit. It is initially valid for 2 years and can be extended for another 3 years.

Eligibility:

Applicant must have a annual salary of 30,000 Euros or more. (Exceptions are made in this case)

It is important to note that with your first work permit, you are expected to stay with your employer for at least 12 months. After that, you can change your employer and reapply for the General Employment Permit.

After 5 years of legal residence in Ireland, one can apply for Long-Term Residence.
