Germany also requires your GMAT scores if you are opting for an MBA degree. For other masters degree program they require your GRE score (not compulsory for all masters programs).

German public universities usually exempt their tuition fee or charge a very small amount for all degree courses. However, their private universities are more expensive than their public universities e.g. a private business school tuition fee ranges from 11,000 to 14,000 Euros per year.

Is it possible to earn while Learning ?

International students often take up part-time jobs to help their daily expenses and make it easier to be independent.

So, International students can only work for 120 full days or 240 half days. If you seek more working hours then you must seek permission from the local employment agency and foreigners’ registration office. This is required so as to check the level of unemployment in a state.

However, this 120-day rule is not applicable to student assistants, yet you are required to inform local employment agency about it.

But those falling under the category of European Union, Norway, Switzerland, Iceland and Liechtenstein can work as much as they want.

If you have a student job and earn up to 450 Euros per month, you need not pay taxes. But if the earning exceeds 450 Euros a month, you are supposed to pay taxes.

What Is Scope of Work Residence and Citizenship ?

After the completion of an International Student’s degree, you can apply for a Residence Permit. This Residence Permit allows you to stay in Germany for another 18 months to search for employment. It is important to note that this permit does not come with your Student Visa and you have to separately apply for the permit after the completion of your course.

Once you have secured a job meeting your qualifications, you become eligible to become an EU Blue Card Holder. Your eligibility also depends on the job offer which has to be at least 49,600 Euros a year.

There are 2 ways to apply for Settlement Permit:

  • In two years after receiving your EU Blue Card
  • Or if you have held a Residence Permit for at least 5 years.
